MCLAB’struncatedT4RNALigase2wasdevelopedspecificallyfordemandingNext-GenerationRNASequencingapplications.Thetruncatedligase2specificallyligatestheadenylated5'-endofanadaptertothe3'-endofRNA.TheenzymedoesnotrequireATPforligationbutdoesneedanadenylatedsubstrate.BynothavingextraATPinthereaction,theamountofligationbetweenrandomRNAmoleculesisdramaticallyreduced.UnlikethefulllengthT4RNAligase2,thetruncatedligasedoesnotligatethephosphorylated5'-endofRNAorDNAwithouttheadenylatedsubstrate,makingitanexcellentchoiceforsmallRNAlibrarypreparation.WhetheryourplantosequencemiRNAsortoperformdirectionalmRNA-Seq,thetruncatedligase2willhelptoenhanceyourlibrarypreparations.
